Moneda, is the name of the project which saw Silvio Vinci (piano, Hammond organ, bass), Fabrizio Cherubini (drums, guitar, vocals), and Gigi Cattani (lead guitar ) jamming together for a week of August 2001 and then translating it into a demo, but fascinating experiment, recorded in the living room of Fabricius, which contains little gems pop psychedelic rock and daring architecture.
the HIGHWAY 69 were the most important garage rock group of Sassari. The music scene in the early 90 in Italy has seen a dramatic revival of vintage 60's sounds, especially with the recovery of the beat and the array of American garage rock, with the prominence of bands like Fuzztones, The Lyres and in Italy of Sick Rose But above all Joe Perrino & Mellowtones , from Cagliari, Sardinia proud of 'era, capable of spectacular concerts, which I attended and I remember with electrifying passion. However, to talk about Highway 69 is necessary to do this premise, that the passion for the sounds that unites a quintet of friends, beautifully in tune on the musical choices (.. a little less on participation in concerts ... but that's another story .... nb). the MEDICINE MEN have been one of the best groups of Sassari, between 1993 and 1998, concrete example of the recovery of the 70 vintage sounds at a time when nobody had in mind to cover the Band or Traffic. Initially created as an offshoot of the late lamented Highway 69, a fantastic and prolific garage rock band, thanks to Silvio Vinci, on keyboards and Stefano Sotgiu, guitar and vocals, founding member and sponsor of all initiatives of the group-who were, during the reporting period: a contribution to the first edition of the prestigious Narcao Blues festival, which involved the participation dl Sardinian best blues band, and especially the demo recording of the legendary "Hollywood ... ", recorded by G. Leonardi, with pieces of his own composition, which still, move me and leave a very pleasant listen, and where you can appreciate the participation in some vocals of Roberta Usai (the Aretha Franklin Sassarese .. .), Fabrizio Cherubini and Stefano Cossiga, then in Seven Miles. To make a little history, we must return to the period of transition that saw the dissolution of Highway 69 and the first jam session with some the most famous musicians of Sassari. The first line-up included Roberto "Fins" Pinna, on guitar, joined for a short time by Giuseppe Mossa on second guitar (a bit to emulate the legendary guitar duo Duane Allman and Dickey Betts, a little bit of our dream ..) and besides Silvio and Stefano Carboni from Leonardo , on bass, who remained until its dissolution in 1998, later entered a permanent Marcello Meridda , battery and Gigi Cattani, guitar.

The Amanita were an important group in Sassari, between 1996 and 1999, with two different configurations, the first born from the ashes of two groups in a city already known as the Medicine Men and Runs On Rails, the second after the official dissolution ricostituitasi the first combo, usurping-keeping, I would say, controversy-a note the original name. Thereafter, Amanita, led by Samuel, with an entirely different group recorded a beautiful CD and you know a little everywhere. Aldo and Silvio are continuing their search ..
