the HIGHWAY 69 were the most important garage rock group of Sassari. The music scene in the early 90 in Italy has seen a dramatic revival of vintage 60's sounds, especially with the recovery of the beat and the array of American garage rock, with the prominence of bands like Fuzztones, The Lyres and in Italy of Sick Rose But above all Joe Perrino & Mellowtones , from Cagliari, Sardinia proud of 'era, capable of spectacular concerts, which I attended and I remember with electrifying passion. However, to talk about Highway 69 is necessary to do this premise, that the passion for the sounds that unites a quintet of friends, beautifully in tune on the musical choices (.. a little less on participation in concerts ... but that's another story .... nb). STEFANO SOTGIU , voice; SILVIO VINCI , keyboards; MAXIMUM CANU , bass; FIN ALBERTO , guitar; MAXIMUM Porqueddu , battery, are the original founders of the great Highway 69, which proposed a garage sound pretty solid and direct, simple in structure, but full of energy and features a beautiful sound, made of organ and fuzz, a pulsating bass and drums pretty tough, and the typical vocal approach of the garage rock. The Highway 69 were active at an incredible series of concerts in the whole island, including local and antlers, and even a little recording experience, which at the time I lost track ... Mamoiada a memorable evening, in summer (1992), in a square in front of a crowd of spectators in disbelief at seeing 5 Sassari struggling with the sound of old barritas ...
